Duisburg. Hitachi Power Europe GmbH (HPE) is taking over XERVON Energy GmbH, a leading international service provider active in the area of energy and power plants. HPE is purchasing the shares in the company from REMONDIS (Lünen), one of the world's largest water and environmental service companies. The takeover has yet to be approved by the relevant authorities; the parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the acquisition.
As a result of this purchase, HPE has succeeded in considerably extending its product range and areas of expertise within the field of power plant services. XERVON Energy, which is based in the German city of Duisburg, focuses primarily on optimising and maintaining power plants as well as delivering all spare parts for such facilities.
Klaus-Dieter Rennert, chairman of HPE's executive management team, explained how the takeover of XERVON Energy fits perfectly into Hitachi's global strategy: "By extending our service activities, we will be able to play a much bigger role in this rapidly expanding market." Moreover, XERVON Energy and its experienced team of experts is an excellent addition to a business that specializes in building new plants such as Hitachi Power Europe. "Having built power plants for our customers, we can now offer them an extensive range of long-term services from which all parties involved will benefit."
